My name is Beatrice but you can just call me B.
Biography
I was born and raised in Italy, in a lovely town, Legnago, close to Verona, a romantic city, famous for the love story of Romeo and Juliet.
After marrying my husband, I lived in Ravenna, a beautiful place, rich with culture and history, well known all over the world for the spectacular mosaic art that one can admire in several Churches and Cathedrals.
December 2015 was my turning point: my family and I moved to Australia, to chase new opportunities and new challenges.
Since the beginning down under, I felt the need to bring over the passion for my language and for my culture.
Years of experience, one passion: bringing Italian culture to life in my Toowong studio
I love saying that I have already had two lives:
A life in Italy and a life in Queensland.
They are different, and I don’t think I could compare them.
My life in Italy was tailored to the Italian lifestyle: more time spent inside than outdoors, family traditions, social rituals like the big Sunday lunch or la passeggiata, the daily afternoon walk.
In Brisbane the weather is lovely, the areas are beautiful, big and green and beaches are a good excuse for going outside and enjoying the open air.
Italy has enabled me to shape into the person I am today, but Queensland grants me a place where I can share my passion and knowledge with others.
Creating connections through language
As an Italian and Classical Latin private teacher with years of teaching experience in Italy, I began sharing my knowledge with local people in Brisbane by tutoring both children and adults of all levels, from Beginner to Advanced.
In the past eight years I have had the privilege of tutoring Italian and Classical Latin to many people, with different backgrounds and skills.
I also taught Classical Latin at Brisbane Girls Grammar School.
I currently own my own studio in Toowong where I meet all my lovely students in a nice and very Italian atmosphere.
In my studio I have created an environment where everyone can encounter, and connect with, the beauty of the Italian culture.
